Finding your perfect match in the Typhoon lineup
One of the most important decisions a roasting business will make is choosing the right machine size. Too small, and you will be running back-to-back batches all day just to keep up with orders. Too large, and you are paying for capacity you do not use, with higher energy costs and a longer path to ROI.
The Typhoon range spans five models, from the compact 2.5 PRO all the way to the industrial 30kg. Each one uses the same core convection technology, so you get the same roast quality, energy efficiency, and profile control regardless of size. The difference is throughput.
Typhoon 2.5 PRO: the Cafe and Micro-Roastery workhorse
Batch size: 2.5 kg | Throughput: Up to 15 kg/hour
The Typhoon 2.5 PRO is built for cafes roasting in-house, micro-roasteries just getting started, and specialty roasters who need a dedicated sample roasting machine. At 15 kg per hour, it can handle the needs of a busy cafe or a small online roasting business comfortably.
Its compact footprint makes it ideal for spaces where square footage is limited. Many roasters also keep a 2.5 PRO alongside a larger Typhoon specifically for sample roasting and developing new profiles before scaling them up to production batches.
Ideal for: Cafes roasting 50-75 kg/week, micro-roasteries, sample roasting, roasting schools and training.
Typhoon 5 PRO: the sweet spot for growing specialty roasters
Batch size: 5 kg | Throughput: Up to 30 kg/hour
The Typhoon 5 PRO sits at the sweet spot for specialty coffee businesses that have outgrown their first roaster or are starting with serious ambitions. At 30 kg per hour, it comfortably serves roasteries processing 100 to 200 kg per week, with plenty of headroom for growth.
This is the model we recommend most often for specialty roasters who are building a wholesale account base, supplying a small chain of cafes, or running a thriving online subscription business. It offers production-level throughput without the space and power requirements of the larger models.
Ideal for: Specialty roasters processing 100-200 kg/week, small wholesale operations, multi-location cafe groups.
Typhoon 10 PRO: production-Grade power
Batch size: 10 kg | Throughput: Up to 60 kg/hour
The Typhoon 10 PRO is a true production machine. At 60 kg per hour, it serves established roasteries with significant wholesale accounts, co-roasting facilities that serve multiple brands, and businesses that need to produce large volumes without sacrificing quality.
Despite its capacity, the 10 PRO maintains the same precision and profile control as the smaller models. You can roast a single 10 kg batch of rare micro-lot coffee with the same care and consistency as a full day of production roasting.
Ideal for: Established roasteries processing 300-500 kg/week, co-roasting operations, private label production.
Typhoon 20kg and 30kg: industrial scale
Typhoon 20kg: 20 kg batch | Up to 120 kg/hour
Typhoon 30kg: 30 kg batch | Up to 180 kg/hour
For high-volume operations, the Typhoon 20kg and 30kg deliver industrial-grade throughput. The 30kg can process up to 180 kg per hour, making it capable of handling over a tonne of coffee per day in a single shift. These machines are designed for large commercial roasteries, FMCG producers, and businesses supplying supermarket or hospitality chains.
Even at this scale, the convection technology maintains roast consistency and energy efficiency that drum roasters of comparable size simply cannot match.
Ideal for: Large commercial roasters, FMCG production, supermarket and hospitality supply, toll roasting operations.

Key considerations when choosing
Current volume: Start with your current weekly output. Choose a model that handles your current volume at no more than 60-70% capacity, leaving room for growth.
Growth projections: Where will you be in 2-3 years? If you are growing steadily, it often makes more sense to size up one model rather than outgrow a smaller machine quickly.
Available space: Check your facility dimensions against the machine footprint. Remember to account for clearance around the machine for operation, maintenance access, and ventilation.
Power requirements: Larger models require three-phase power. Confirm your electrical supply before committing. Our team can help you assess your facility’s readiness.
Product range: If you roast many different origins and blends in small batches, a smaller model with high batch frequency might suit you better than a large model running partial loads.
